Supporting several redundant SQL platforms isn't an option for an Enterprise. We can't afford to have redundant MySQL in addition to MSSQL cluster.
So I believe flexibility in product is a MUST. You're just locking out a big chunk of ENT. users.

My customers are manufacturers. They use MS SQL because it is bilt-in the production aquisition system link to PLC. Your software would be nice to help reduce down time by having a good knowledge base. I often proposed your software but they always reject it because it is not MS SQL compatible. The hosting is also reject because the internet is not allow to all users.

Oracle has purchased Sun Microsystems that owned MySQL. Since Oracle is much more experienced in development of database management systems than Microsoft, community expects prominent future for MySQL.
Adding support of MSSQL could become a burden for KMP development process. Please post your comments if you really need MSSQL support and can't live with MySQL.

This would allow your application to be used by businesses that won't allow use of mySQL, especially with mySQL's clouded future
