We'd very much like to have a type of workflow control that follows the 'at least two pairs of eyes' principle. That is, if you are the last editor of an article, it requires someone different to publish it. There would also be space for a super-publisher capability where trusted editors can publish their own work - but for most trusted contributors, an extra review check by someone else before publishing would be good.

Hi, we need full document life-cycle management to be enabled by the new workflow feature, e.g. see basic features provided for Microsoft Sharepoint 2010: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261933.aspx
We would also like to use your system to project management large numbers of documents throughout their life-cycle. To do this we would need to see summary statistics and lists of documents at each stage of their life-cycle including the time elapsed at each stage and who is responsible for the document at that stage, e.g. author or approver. The ability to send a reminder 'request for status update' email to the appropriate person would be desirable. -

This my first time trying your product and i like it. but it would be better if the next version can support :
- php-xmlrpc (or same kind), so people/staff can upload document directly from word processing.
-charting support (or mind map) on custom report about important information/issue that we dig in. it's about capturing knowledge i think.
- generating new document from existing document, like wiki.may be i'm asking to much :) but i Hope these features can strengthen your next product on knowledgebase market.
Kind Regards,

It would come in handy when workflow can be
- used for approving category creation.
- used for Sending Office parts like tasks/mails/calendar items to specific users.
- used for Sending custom mail item's to specific persons or initiator of the workflow triggerd by the change, creation or deletion of an object. (Microsoft CRM has this quite well worked out! Only thing they miss is starting a custom made script triggered by an custom event).Hope these features will be included ;)

Just a quick note about workflow ... adding the concept of article owners and article statuses will support a variety of workflows. Allowing admins to create custom statuses will provide even more workflow variety.

Thank you for your suggestions. The upcoming v5.3 that is going to be released in the nearest time is on the test stage and we cannot add more features to it now, but v5.4 will be dedicated to Workflow in full. In will include full-functional workflow system that will also have features you've suggested. -

We have started using the simple workflow in 5.2.2 and feedback from the Editors is that they would like an additional tab on the home page that lists all the articles for them to publish.
To inform the Editors about which articles are ready for review, another button on the articles themselves, which submits the articles for publishing would add the articles to the tab on the editors page.
Thanks,

Starting from v5.2.1, KMP supports Simple Workflow system. New articles created by authors (users that do not have publishing permission) are not shown to end users immediately. They are waiting for approval by content moderators. After moderator checks an article he may publish it in one click and thus make it publicly accessible.
